Money, what money?

In a departure from one of the many common themes usually running through my head (exemplia gratis, should I embrace my relative adequacy with written words -- or should I embrace the process and fear involved in becoming a dynamic speaker?), today I was struck by the ease with which I spent just over $200 on nothing more than a frame and a powder blue polyester robe.

It's graduation regalia time at Columbia University. The extra wings of fabric on Master's gowns will cost ya an extra $5 a pop.

After spending $3000 per class, dropping a measley couple hundred on an academic expense seems mundane. Oh, almost forgot -- I paid with student loan monies. Ay, there's the rub.
