Well, I turned in a draft of my master's project on the ides of March. I thought I'd feel some sort of great relief, but as it turns out, I really have so much more work to do on the thesis -- not to mention other classes. I've made a solid case for my project, reviewed literature, created a budget and evaluation tools, and charted plans for 8 weeks of an intervention. Now I have to actually create the scripts, extension activities, cross-discipline materials -- very exciting stuff, but this is sort of the grunt work part, and all the details matter.
Also, my knees are cold. I hate that.

In other news, I'm having a hard time understanding the recent weather pattern:
Wednesday: sunny and 70 degrees, people in shorts
Thursday: not as sunny, but the first half of the day was still nearly 70. By nightfall it was certifiably chilly.
Friday: ice/snow storm???
Friday is also the day I was supposed to fly fly away to San Francisco (where it's in the mid-70s now). Instead, it was the day I spent way too many hours at JFK only to leave disappointed. I had really been looking forward to the trip for a number of reasons. It was at little treat at the end of my working spring break (days at the hospital, nights working on my thesis, very little sleep). I was going to reward myself after turning in a draft of my thesis. I was going to see a lot of good friends. I was allegedly going to escape the freak ice storm. Plus, I had nice plans for the weekend -- a spa day with a good friend, the rehearsal dinner and wedding itself, an evening of revelry for St. Patrick's day/a group birthday party with dance friends.
On the upside: I'll be able to spend the weekend with Fred, and I'll get to sleep. These are good things.
My consolation prize: I re-booked the flight for next weekend because Fred's going to be in the Bay Area for a work conference. I'm still sad about missing the wedding and birthday party, but now at least I still get to visit my beloved city by the Bay, hopefully see the people I am missing this weekend, and share some of it (the city and my friends) with fred.
